Petroacoustics
A Tool for Applied Seismics

Patrick RASOLOFOSAON holds a Doctorat d'Etat ès Sciences from Université Denis Diderot (Paris VII) in 1987, a Docteur-Ingénieur degree (PhD) from École des Mines de Paris in 1983, and an Engineering diploma (1979) from École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris). He is a senior research geoscientist at IFP Energies nouvelles (France) since 1985, a professor of Seismics and Acoustics both at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI) and at the Université Denis Diderot (Paris VII), and a professor of Rock Physics at the IFP School. He is an Associate Editor of Geophysical Prospecting, and is a member of both EAGE and SEG. His research interests are in Rock Physics, General Acoustics, Nonlinear Acoustics in geomaterials, Seismic anisotropy, Porous media, Physical modeling and Seismic interferometry.

Bernard ZINSZNER graduated from École de Géologie de Nancy (France) and École du Pétrole (IFP School - France). He was a senior research geoscientist at IFP Energies nouvelles where he worked in the Geology, Geophysics and Geomechanics departments. He retired from IFP Energies nouvelles and is presently a consulting geoscientist.
