The seismoelectric method is a geophysical imaging technique relying on electrokinetic conversions between seismic and electromagnetic waves. A typical seismoelectric layout combines a seismic source with a string of electrical receivers, i.e. dipoles. While still experimental, this technique boasts several applications to fluid detection, including water, oil or CO₂.
