The Hilbert transformation > Polarization filter

A polarisation filter enables the wave separation of two-component signals into a new domain ( the signal domain) where we find all the waves having a given polarisation P, such that in the complimentary domain (the noise domain), we find the noise and all the waves having an orthogonal polarisation to P. It is convenient to know or estimate P so as to carry out such a separation. The operation is linear and in the signal domain, we can represent the selected wave according its components of origin.
We illustrate the procedure of polarisation estimation and wave separation with synthetic data.
